Task 20: Qualification of Open Source Software for e-Gov

Activity: research

Description: Many governments are particularly interested in open source software (OSS) because it reduces their dependence on particular (and often foreign) companies, and can reduce their costs. Although OSS quality is generally regarded as high, governments are also concerned about the danger of using software with no guaranteed level of quality.

Purpose: To investigate approaches to the establishment of quality measures suitable for OSS for e-government.
